Recipe Structure: From Old Telephone Directories to Digital Menus
Recipe is an integrated management software designed for restaurants and cafés. In the design of the Recipe catalog, the main concept was inspired by the structure of old telephone directories and software menus—systems where information is organized into clearly defined sections, allowing users to easily navigate between different topics.
This concept became the foundation of the catalog’s structure and also influenced the way its content was presented. As a result, the different features and sections of Recipe are introduced through a coherent and easy-to-follow visual journey.

Structure: The Starting Point of the Design
In this project, the catalog’s structure plays a central role in shaping the user experience. Different content sections are organized according to their thematic relationships, while the presentation follows the logic of categorization and quick access.
The inspiration from old telephone directories brings a sense of familiarity and order to the structure, while the logic of software menus connects the concept to a contemporary environment suited to a digital product.

Designing for Diverse Content
Recipe offers a wide range of features for managing restaurants and cafés. Therefore, the content was organized so that each section could be understood independently while maintaining its connection to the overall system.
Throughout the process, content creation and information structuring developed alongside the graphic design, allowing the final visual structure of the catalog to emerge directly from its content.

A Catalog with the Logic of Software
Ultimately, the Recipe catalog was built around the same principle found within the product itself: accessing different sections through an organized and integrated structure.
Combining the familiar format of old telephone directories with the logic of software menus gave the catalog an identity rooted in a recognizable visual language while remaining fully aligned with Recipe’s digital nature.
